Forbidden Bonds

I have been searching for closed-door forbidden romance books, and guess what??

I got an ARC with the trope - Forbidden Romance 😀

The story takes place in a small village in Uganda (an East African Country). 

The story revolves around the village's traditions and the daily lives of its people.

Lucy (FMC), a 17-year-old girl, with her family, transferred to the village three years ago, but she lives in a boarding school and doesn't come to the town even during her breaks. However, this year she came to the village. She did not expect she would fit into the village's routines. Her thinking is very different from the village's residents, and as an independent woman who knows when to speak and how to behave, she is considered a bad influence.

Fred (MMC) is a proper village guy. He is 18 years old and is under pressure to get married off to his dead brother's widow. But when he meets Lucy, and there is some non-denial chemistry between the two, he is confused. 

This book is the story of these two meeting and getting attracted and getting into a lot of trouble. 

The trouble is not only because they are attracted, but there is a conflict between their families. Their families don't get along. This leads to them meeting without getting caught. 

This adds a lot of fun (for us) and a little troublesome (to them) 😂

What I personally love about the story:

• As the main story revolves around the romance, the details this book gives about Uganda's Culture are amazing. I am Indian, so there are many traditions and cultures that I can relate to, but it was an amazing experience to learn about different cultures and all.
• It was refreshing to read a young adult book that has such emotionally intelligent characters.
• To find forbidden love in a young adult book was also nice. 
• I personally found so many lines that are so beautifully written.
• Other than the main characters, I love the character of Primrose (Lucy's Mother). 

The book is Forbidden Bonds by Rose Fresquez.

My Rating: 4.5 ⭐

This is the 1st book in the series of Forbidden Love, and 2nd book is Forbidden Dreams. It is releasing on 28th July. I am so excited to read further about the story of Fred and Lucy. The first book is about Lucy living in the village, I guess the next book is about Fred living the city life.
