This Time It's Real
Hey Lovelies, how are you all? π
I love the trope of fake Dating—it's classic for a reason. I don't remember how I fell in love with this trope, but I think it is because I have never read a book based on fake dating, and it hasn't turned out to be good.
And recently, I have discovered Ann Liang's book, and honestly, I am thinking why didn't I discover it before, but better late than never.
So, today, what I am sharing with you is my current obsession with Ann Liang's books and fake dating tropes.
This book is about Eliza and Caz, two high schoolers. (And I love YA books too π)
What to say about this book, did this book make me laugh? Yes, made me cry? Definitely yes, made me blush? Absolutely YES, did it make me bored even for a minute? No chance.
I was in a reading slump for about 20 days. Then, one night, there was a power out at our home, and I was not able to sleep in this much heat. The next day was a holiday, so I didn't plan to sleep early. I had downloaded this book on my Kindle. I thought of reading because I had nothing else to do, and I never once felt that I was in a reading slump while reading this.
I can relate to Eliza to some extent, and I honestly completed this book in one sitting. I read this book from 12 midnight to 5 in the morning. This was soooo good.
Eliza wants to become a writer, and for her English homework, where they have to write an essay about their personal life, she decides to write a fake story, because she is new to her school and doesn't know what to write that is interesting.
And, this essay of hers went viral, like superrrr viral. And, for people to believe her story, she needs a boyfriend, and she approaches with a PPT, yes, seriously, a WHOLE PLAN WITH A PPT to convince Caz to become her fake-boyfriend.
Caz is an actor. Due to some misunderstandings, people start to believe that Caz is not as good a human as he shows on camera. To save his reputation, he says okay to the fake-dating plan.
And, for the rest of the story, go and read the book, because if I continue, I won't stop yapping π€£.
The book is "This Time It's Real" by Ann Liang.
