Fake Dating My Best Friend
Hey Lovelies, how are you all? 💛
The review of the book I am sharing is an ARC review.
The book started with two best friends and ended up with them being in love.
Two best friends - Isla and Asher. Isla is a matchmaker, and Asher is a gym owner in a small town. They both have had a secret crush on each other since forever. The whole town can see that they both are in love, but they can't.
Isla has been in a relationship, and her break-up was in front of the whole town, and that did not do any good to her already in danger work as a matchmaker. She is left with zero clients. But a rumor starts that Isla and Asher are dating, and the people start coming to her to find their partners.
Asher wants to win her over, and he gets to know that Isla feels the same about him as he feels, but she is scared and also very confused due to her past. And, he is ready to do anything to win her over, and to realize her they are meant to be together.
So, for her business, Lisa and Asher decide to fake-date. This fake-dating starts to feel real to both of them, but one day they kissed and Lisa goes back to feeling insecure about herself, her past and everything. But this time, she doesn't want to lose everything due to her past, so she first clears out everything, and she confesses to Asher.
And, Asher and Isla finally kiss without any second thoughts.
The book is Fake Dating My Best Friend by Leah Blair.
Tropes:
- Best Friends to Lovers
- Secret Crush
- Fake Dating
- Closed Door
My Rating: 5 🌟
Honestly, at first, this book was a 4 to 4.5 star for me, but then the chapter where Isla confronts her father and understands her situation and feelings and is ready to finally live freely and not under pressure of anything and to live in the present, forgetting the past and never thinking bad about the future changed my rating to 5 stars.
I loved that she thought of finally confronting the past so that she could live in the present 🩷.
And Asher, the man he is. He is the BEST best friend, boyfriend, son, friend, and human.
The art of never giving up, holding through all, and never leaving, he knows it best.
Some Spoilers:
1. I love how Asher starts fulfilling the bucket list of Isla even before they start fake-dating.
2. The slow burn was Burning; they kissed at 80%.
3. The audiobook scene in the car, I was laughing out loud at that part. It was so hilarious and embarrassing at the same time.
4. And finally, the Proposal has my heart. It was so thoughtful, so cute, so lovely, and so intimate 😍🥰
I hope you all read this book and enjoy.
