Can't Help Falling in Love

Hey Lovelies, how are you all? 💛

Imagine unexpectedly meeting your high school friends after almost a decade on one fine afternoon in a cafe. What can go wrong, isn't it?

But what if you work there as a waitress, and that's not your dream job, and your friends are all successful, happy, and content with life? What will you do?

This is the story of Alexandria Ganby, a struggling waitress who meets Will Grand, the CFO of a well-known company. They both meet at a cafe where Alexandria works part-time.

So, to escape the situation where her friends will know she works as a waitress she asks Will for her help. And this is where everything begins.

Alexandria's life has been very difficult lately, as she has noticed her father's death and her mother's drastic change in lifestyle. On the other hand, Will is irritated with his mother's attempt to set him on blind dates with some famous father's daughters. So, the set-up of fake dating/engagement is a win-win situation for both of them.

Honestly, this is the first time I enjoyed the non-romantic part of the story more. The personal growth of Alexandria, and the situation where Will understands why her mother is always behind him to marry the girl she selects. I love the small moments that happen with both the main leads as well as their families. I love the growth of each and every character, everyone felt like a real person who has seen struggle and is overcoming it as well as living their life to the fullest. And many cute little moments that warm my heart.

The story deals with the loss of an important person in one's life and how different people grieve differently.

The best part about the book that impacted me personally was when the author says that we expect our parents to be flawless and when they are not we get disappointed in how that's not correct and our parents are also living this life for the first time. They will make mistakes and they also have a difficult time, we should understand them as other human beings not just as our parents.

The book is Can't Help Falling in Love by Sophie Sullivan.
