Practice Makes Perfect

Hey Lovelies, how are you all? πŸ’›

Today, I am sharing the review of my Favorite book of 2024. This review will be a little lengthy, and there will be some spoilers (not enough, so you can enjoy reading this book πŸ˜‰).

This book is a small-town love story featuring Annie Walker and Will Griffin. Annie, the youngest in her family, has three older siblings—one brother and two sisters. She has an introverted and shy personality, mostly called "Angle Annie" by others, which she hates. She is seen as sweet, cute, and timid but is irritated with these labels and wishes to be seen beyond them.

Annie is 28 years old and wants to marry and settle with her husband in the town. She thinks she wants this all because she feels a void in her heart. Is getting married going to fill the void? Maybe it will, or maybe it won't.

Will Griffin is a bodyguard oh sorry, an Executive Protection Agent πŸ˜πŸ˜‚. He is the elder son in the family and has a younger brother. He is the most dangerous EPA, I am not saying this, it is published in the 'BuzzFeed article' 😜. He is a gorgeous man with a magnolia tattoo on his hand. He loves a fast-paced life, doesn't want to settle in life, loves adventures, and has a charming personality.

Annie and Will both know each other through mutual connections. For a month Will is in town, and he becomes a dating coach for Annie. During this coaching, some sparks are generated between these two πŸ’—πŸ’₯. The small-small gestures that they both do for each other, which they won't be doing for anyone, the whole fake dating/coaching process is really very cute.

Annie has feelings for Will from the beginning, but these feelings are growing day by day, and Will also has feelings for Annie. But, Annie wants to settle in life with her husband in the town itself, on the other hand, Will does not believe in marriages and never wants to settle in life, and enjoys his fast-paced life. Now, what happens between these two? Wanna know? Read, Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams.

This book has my heart. It is so damn cute. Will give the vibes of a Villain in Love. The words of affirmation he gives, and the acts of service he does is top-notch. Annie is the sunshine character and her love language is telling her secrets, and physical touch. Annie doesn't show her clingy side to anyone but Will is different.

If you are in the mood for some romance, comedy, a little cry and more laughs, then you should definitely read this book. Other than the romance between Annie and Will this book also shows the bonds between siblings and how important they are in one's life.

This book brought me into the world of small-town romance, and now there is no going back. I just want to live in the small town after reading this. This book is a part of the series "When in Rome", and is book #2.

The book #1 is "When in Rome", and there is no compulsion to read this book before starting "Practice Makes Perfect". But, if you read it, you will be more familiar with the Characters.

I read the book #2 before the book #1 because I wasn't aware of the series. I enjoyed the #2 book more than #1. I felt a connection with Annie Walker from the start of the book. And, this book kept me hooked from the first page to the last.

Some spoilers:

  • I must tell you, Will Griffin is not as tough and cold-hearted as published in the BuzzFeed article. He is a softie from the inside, his heart is so pure and he is a gentlemanπŸ’“.
  • Annie is so much more than her shy and introverted personality.
  • When Annie is not well, Will takes care of her, takes her to the doctor, makes her favorite soup, and also sleeps with her so she doesn't feel lonely😭.
  • Annie loves Will but for Will's sake and his hatred towards marriages and commitment, let him leave the town and live his life as he wants to live πŸ’›.
  • Will fills the void Annie is feeling and gives her compliments every now and then because he knows she feels insecure πŸ’˜.
  • Annie doesn't like to take her pictures, so, Will takes her pictures secretly to prove to her that she is beautiful and deserves everythingπŸ’•.
I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did πŸ’«πŸ’•.  Comment below to tell me if you enjoyed it or not.
Yours truly,
love and Peace.
